Rumor Patrol: #Beyonce NOT portraying ‘Storm’ in #BlackPanther2! [Details]

Rumors spread quickly don’t they? Earlier today social media was set ablaze when it was RUMORED that Beyonce was joining the Marvel family. Many were quick to assume that Beyonce was going to contribute to the soundtrack and some rumors even circulated that she may have been casted to portray Marvel character, ‘Storm’. Well….it’s all just that….RUMOR and here is the REAL….

Earlier this week, The Sun reported that Beyonce was in talks to sign a deal with Disney that would include her contributing to the Black Panther 2 soundtrack. However, no such deal is in the works according to Variety senior film writer Matt Donnelly. On Twitter, he debunked the rumors, writing, “Despite overwhelming excitement at the prospect, sources tell me there is no big Disney film deal for Beyonce, and she will not contrib to the soundtrack for [Black Panther 2].” Donnelly went on to say that it’s likely she’ll work with Disney again.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility for Beyonce to somehow be involved with the Black Panther 2 soundtrack, since the singer and actress has worked with Disney many times, most recently participating in The Disney Family Singalong specials the Mouse House has done during shutdowns. She also starred in the 2019 remake of The Lion King and appeared on the soundtrack. Further, if Marvel Studios and Coogler were to bring back Lamar to produce the Black Panther 2 soundtrack, it could make a Beyonce collaboration more likely since the two have worked together before. Lamar appeared on Beyonce’s 2016 song “Freedom” off her Lemonade album.

BP2 is still in the very early stages so it’s way to early to say what additions will be added to the franchise.

Staunch critics of Beyonce’s acting can collectivy sigh in relief. But really, what IF Beyonce was a part of the franchise? Would that be a BAD THING? She is basically one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and beyond, so why not? Celebrate our treasures people…Bey is a gem!
