Media maven Wendy Williams has had a tumultuous past 2 years to say the least. Now RUMOR HAS IT, her upcoming season 11 could be her last! If you watched the season 10 summer finale with Jerry O’Connell, Wendy herself dropped a lot of clues….and the writings on the wall!
Sources are saying that Wendy Williams may bow out after season 11!
“This was an extremely difficult season to get through for the staff and Wendy herself, obviously. With the show’s renewal set to end after the 2019-2020 season, everyone thinks it’s the perfect time to say goodbye move on. Wendy has enough going on as it is and honestly no one, including Wendy, is sure she can even make it through season 11. Not to mention, advertisers consider her to be a ‘risk’ due to her unplanned hiatuses and extended breaks. It’s very likely the show won’t be back.”
On the season 10 finale Wendy reminded her captive fans that she didn’t intend on doing her show ‘forever’.
Wendy Williams broke down Thursday on the season finale of her daytime talk show.
The Wendy Williams Show host began to cry while reflecting on the challenges she’s faced in her personal life over the past year.
“This season has been, well, hell for me, in a weird way,” Williams said through tears.
But she noted that work has helped her get through the drama, including filing for divorce from her husband Kevin Hunter, reports that Hunter fathered a child with another woman, and tearfully revealing she was living in a sober house.
“I appreciate doing this show because it’s my one hour when I get to be fun and forget about stuff. You’ve seen me pass out this season, you’ve read in tabloids and the paparazzi and all that. But through it all, my one joy — aside from my son and my family — is you,” Williams told her studio audience.
“I’m not doing this show forever, but I certainly will be back for season 11,” she said. “A lot of people didn’t think we could do it, but we did it!”
And coincidentally, her last guest of season 10 was Jerry O’Connell who has guested on the hit show numerous times and pitch hit hosted a lot during Wendy’s many hiatuses.
If that is not enough clues, Jerry has landed his own talk show backed by Fox that is executive produced by none other than Wendy Williams. The show will do a preview run this summer when….during WENDY’S summer break…the perfect time to try out a successor, right!? Right. With Wendy’s health issues, her ‘new life’s as she coined her post divorce status from Kevin Hunter, advertisers are worried about their investments and Wendy is concerned with her own well-being. 2020 would actually be the perfect time to say good bye while she is still on top a’la Oprah Winfrey, right. Fans, me being included, would hate to see her go, but Jerry is the perfect heir to the throne. He did well in her absence and I am sure his own show will fair well too. And an added bonus he is a WHITE, MALE! That is a double-double if you ask me.
Wendy seemed to be passing the torch on her season 10 finale:
The future is not certain, but season 11 is on the books starting in September.
