Things have gone from bad to worse for embattled R&B star R. Kelly!
The ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ singer, songwriter, R. Kelly is facing new sexual abuse charges in Illinois, according to multiple media reports.
The Chicago Sun Times reported that Kelly was charged Thursday with 11 additional counts of sexual assault and sex-abuse related charges.
Four of the charges are “Class X” sex assault charges and are the most serious class of felony in Illinois, excluding murder, Chicago Tribune reporter Megan Crepeau tweeted.
The new charges follow allegations that the singer sexually assaulted four women, including three minors.
Kelly has denied any wrongdoing and has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He has also very publicly proclaimed his innocence, telling Gayle King in an interview that aired this past week on “CBS This Morning” that all his accusers were lying about him.
Kelly is scheduled to be in court on June 6 for the new charges.
