It was a HISTORY MAKING night for RuPaul and his ‘little’ show ‘DragRace’! No reality series has ever won Outstanding Host—which @RuPaul won three consecutive years in a row, including this year—and Outstanding Reality-Competition Series in the same year!
After snatching four trophies at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys, RuPaul’s Drag Race won the grand prize, Outstanding Reality-Competition Series, at the 70th annual Primetime Emmys.\
Drag Race was nominated for Outstanding Reality-Competition Series, but lost out to NBC’s The Voice.
Accepting tonight’s award was RuPaul, who told the audience he would “like to thank [the Television Academy] on behalf of the 140 drag queens we have released into the wild,” before ending his speech, like he does every episode of Drag Race, by saying: “Now let the music play!”
