Video of @badgalriri by @bardiazeinali “Brace yourself: The first time I stepped foot in the Metropolitan Museum was actually for the Met Gala in 2015,” says videographer Bardia Zeinali (@bardiazeinali). “I was a photo researcher at Vogue (@voguemagazine) and spent all night in the basement downloading red carpet images. I did get to go up and catch Rihanna’s performance, which was legitimately life changing.” Just three years later, Bardia is directing video for Vogue at this year’s Met Gala, held annually on the first Monday in May with the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute (@metcostumeinstitute) in New York City. “The most fascinating element of the Met Ball is witnessing the world’s most influential and powerful people in this sacred space, totally uninhibited and free,” says Bardia. “There’s an interesting transition from red carpet mayhem into the museum’s Great Hall. The noise and chaos die down the second you step inside. There’s even a gust of wind that kind of carries you in, too…” Watch our story to see the one and only Liza Koshy (@lizakoshy) get ready for her first #MetGala.✨
