Comic icon, Richard Pryor’s wife CONFIRMS that her late husband indeed did have sexual relations with actor Marlon Brando after Quincy Jones’ TELL-ALL interview with Vulture.com OUTED the pairs relationship!

Responding to reports [REVISIT here-Quincy Jones tells ALL!] of her late husband’s encounter with the Oscar-winning star of The Godfather, Jennifer Lee Pryor wrote on Twitter: “If you listen to Richard’s comedy – the early stuff – he was way ahead of his time on gay rights”, before adding that in the Seventies “everyone was bi!”, and using the hashtag “#noshame”. Also, Jennifer told TMZ Pryor never hid his bisexuality from their inner circle and detailed his relationships with men in his diaries.

Mrs Pryor has attributed her husband’s fling with the film star to ‘cocaine and good music’.

In an interview with New York magazine’s website Vulture, Quincy Jones also claimed that Brando had slept with the singer Marvin Gaye, and with novelist James Baldwin.

Brando, who died in 2004, had occasionally spoken about his same-sex encounters, but had never named Pryor as a partner. In a 1976 interview, the actor told a French journalist: “Homosexuality is so much in fashion, it no longer makes news. Like a large number of men, I, too, have had homosexual experiences, and I am not ashamed.”

Once described by fellow comic Jerry Seinfeld as “the Picasso of our profession”, Pryor was famously outspoken about his personal life. In 1977, he made headlines when he gave an extremely graphic account of a same-sex encounter onstage at the Hollywood Bowl, to an audience of 17,000 people. Mrs Pryor yesterday told news site TMZ that the comedian left behind diaries detailing all his romantic liaisons, which she intends to publish later this year.

Jennifer Lee Pryor was the fourth of the comedian’s six wives, having married him in 1981 and divorced him the following year, but later remarried the star in 2001 and remained with him until his death in 2005.

Shocking, but not really. We just did not have SOCIAL MEDIA back in the day to shed light on such instances. From what I hear, this is not new nor is it news. It was the norm, people just did not TALK about it as much as it was not as accepted as it is now. So this FURTHER BOLSTERS Quincy Jones’ statements and claims. We can only hope that salacious details like this find their way into the upcoming Richard Pryor biopic, right? Let’s cross our fingers.
