Ahead of releasing a new project ‘Man of the Woods’, and headlining this year’s Supper Bowl halftime show, Justin Timberlake is OPENING UP about a number of topics we’ve been wanting to know.
He recently sat down with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, and opened up about Janet Jackson and the Super Bowl fiasco, new music and why he hasn’t worked with The Neptunes since 2002’s Justified’:
When asked about the 2014 ‘Nipplegate’ incident–
Naturally, that’s something we talked about,” he said to Zane. “To be honest, it wasn’t too much of a conversation. It’s just one of those things were you go like, ‘Yeah, what do you want me to say? We’re not going to do that again.’”
As some of you may remember, Jackson took much of the criticism, while Timberlake seemed to come from the rumble totally unscathed.
He says he “stumbled through it.” “I had my wires crossed,” he added. “It’s just something that you have to look back on and go like, ‘Ok, well you know, you can’t change what’s happened but you can move forward and learn from it.’”
Justin also hinted that he and Janet resolved those issues:
“I don’t know that a lot of people know that. I don’t think it’s my job to do that. You value the relationships you do have with people.”
He also explains why he and The Neptunes haven’t worked together since 2002. Take a LOOK at that part of the interview…
